Air Conditioned Carts

Cool Golf At The Country Club of Arkansas

Play the only course in the region to offer air-conditioned golf carts.

Here is how they work:  A metal grid is cooled to near-freezing temperatures by a large block of ice.  An electric fan (activated when you sit on the cart-seat)  blows air across the freezing metal grid - in the same way a fan blows air through the condenser-coils of your car  air conditioner.

The cool air (approximately 62 degrees) is forced through a large flexible hose which is mounted  just behind the neck of the golfer sitting in his cart. The large air tube is fully adjustible and may be moved to immediately cool other areas of your body.

This is not only improves the comfort of the golfer during hot Arkansas summers, but it also provide a bit of safety against over-heating when the indexes soar.

Air conditioned carts (20) are rented for an extra $6.00 per player, and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Junior Clinic In July

The Country Club of Arkansas' Assistant Golf Professional, Wayne Brown nearly cried today as he awarded special pendants to the participants in this week's junior golf camp.

During the week-long camp Wayne and his staff developed great friendships with the young golfers.  Many of the students will look back on this week's clinics as their first formal golf event.

The Country Club of Arkansas is hosting a second Jr. Golf Camp during the week of July 13th - 17th.  Camp fees are $65.00.  Sessions will divided between the younger kids (8-12) and the older kids (13-17).  Junior camps start at 8:00am.  For more information about the July golf camp please call Assistant Golf Professional Wayne Brown at 851-0095.
